Doll Room Progress

I was looking at doll room tours on YouTube and I got inspired to work on mine.  I currently have two that I'm working on, Frankie Stein's bedroom (Not pictured, not on campus) and Bloom's bedroom.  I have Bloom's with me on campus.

I added the Daenerys Targaryen poster and the vanity.  I don't think I'm going to leave the vanity in there, but it makes the room look less empty.  The Alfea picture is going to be a window, and I'm going to add curtains eventually.  I haven't found fabric I like for the room yet.  Oh, and there's also a candle made from a glue stick.

I put in some shelves too.  I made more shelves, but I don't think I'm going to end up adding them.

So my future plans for this room is to add some kind of curtains, flooring, more posters (Sailor Moon), more furniture (bed for sure), etc.

My Winx Doll Collection

This post contains both my Mattel and Jakks Winx dolls

My Winx Dolls

The Trix with Sailor Mars, Vegeta, Goku, Sailor Moon, and Mc Donalds Bloom

Mattel:

Stella:
This was the first Winx doll I got.  She's pre-loved and from eBay, so I don't have her wings.  I do have plans to at some point make wings for her.

Flora:
This was my second Winx doll.  She's also pre-loved from eBay and has wing plans in her future.

Bloom:
She was my fifth Winx doll and my third Mattel one.  Like the others, she's pre-loved and an eBay find.

Jakks:

Bloom:
She was my first Jakks and my third Winx Club doll.  I ordered her from Amazon in 2012.  Her hair was unfortunately a mess, and for all my effort, it hasn't improved much.

Stella:
My second Jakks and fourth Winx.  I bought her from Target in August 2012.

Flora:
My third Jakks and sixth Winx.  I originally got the concert Flora for Christmas, but I exchanged it for her.  She and Tecna were purchased at a gross run down K-Mart.

Tecna:
My fourth Jakks and seventh Winx.  I got her when I got Flora.

Icy:
My fifth Jakks and eight Winx.  I got her, Stormy and Darcy at Toy's R Us.  You can read more about it here.

Stormy:
My sixth Jakks and nineth Winx.  I got her, Icy, and Darcy at Toy's R Us.

Darcy:
My seventh Jakks and tenth Winx.  I got her, Icy, and Stormy at Toy's R Us.

Vanity:
I got this on sale at Toys R' Us when I got the Trix.

Some Works In Progress...

Doll Pauldrons Test

So here are the pictures of the pauldrons.  I need to get some ribbon or string so I can attach these to my doll.  Other than that, they're done.

Winx Doll Dress
I've heard about using tape to draft patterns and I decided to give it a try.  I used a paper towel to protect the doll from the tape, but it made that pattern a lot bulkier than I was looking for.  I redid it by laying the tape sticky side away from the doll and then going over it with more tape, so the sticky sides were touching.  I did have a little stickiness when I did it like that, but since I used painter's tape, it came off without a problem.

Oops, I Bought Raven Queen

I met to write this up that night, but I ended up playing Harry Potter Clue and watching Interview with a Vampire with one of my roommates and her friends.  I started on Sunday, but I had work and quite a bit of homework.  Monday flew by too.

Saturday I went to the mall with a friend.  While we  were there I popped into Justice just to see if they had any Ever After High dolls.  They had the basic versions and the Legacy Day versions.  I like the Basic better, so I ended up getting Raven Queen.

I really like the box.  Unlike the Jakks Winx dolls, these aren't too much of a pain to get open.  The interview is a great touch and I do like Raven's answer to the romance question ("I have to figure out where my story is heading first").  I'm not a big fan of everyone being in couples in high school settings.

Finally free!
The stand is nice, but its hidden in the packaging.  If I already hadn't know that a stand came with her, I would have assumed there wasn't one.
She also comes with a clutch purse.

I really like Raven's (and the other EAHs) face(s) and I plan on getting the other dolls in the basic line as they come out.

Music Player

I added a music player, but its default is off.  Not everyone likes my taste in music and a lot of people listen to their own music as they browse.

I'll most likely add/remove songs over time.  Right now, the playlist has a Halloween theme.

Late Night Crafting...

Its fantastic.  11 O'clock make some doll pauldrons.

Posts that are mostly written later at night are going to have references to things... sorry.

The doll pauldrons were fairly easy, which I had heard that craft foam armor is.  Still I haven't worked with craft foam since I was a kid, and that was just mostly gluing it to things.  I need some ribbon or string so it'll stay on without me holding it.  I don't have any on campus right now, so it'll have to wait.

Pictures will come later...

Doll Vanity

Winx Club Vanity Set

So when I got the Trix dolls, I also saw this vanity for sale.  It was just under four dollars, so I went for it.  Overall its a nice set, especially for what I paid for it.

The vanity comes with a chair.  The accessories that come with it are a hair dryer, hairbrush, perfume bottle, makeup compact, makeup brush (which I thought was nail polish), 2 hair clips, and a pair of earrings.  The earrings are a little odd, because none of my Winx dolls have pierced ears.  I only have the Believix and Trix lines, so maybe other lines do?

There's a frame next to the mirror and the set comes with pictures of all of the Specialists.  Riven was in the frame when it came

It also comes with a bathrobe or as the box calls it an "exclusive fashion".  Its not much, but it does fit with the vanity theme.  The rope was also displayed on a cut out of a Bloom doll, which could make a really cool paper doll.

Doll Haul

So after my math class today, I took a bus to a local shopping center.  I stopped in Toys R Us and found the Trix and the Winx Vanity on clearance.

I ended up going crazy and getting all of them, but my luck with the Winx Jakks dolls has been rather poor.  Overall I like the Trix dolls, their clothing is very very similar, but its like that in the show too.  Their shoes are really cool.

My phone camera decided to act up while I was taking pictures of Darcy, so I'll write about the vanity in another post.  I also went into Michaels to pick up some craft foam to make doll armor, and the results of that should be up soon.
